Something really bothered me about a recent issue of Time magazine was that they were saying who’s influential in the world today, and the music-makers that they picked are, while certainly influential, are hardly innovative or progressive.
That was my way of segueing into Tearist, a band that is both innovative and progressive. They make a sound that enjoys a healthy dose of noise that is sometimes ambient and sometimes clutter. Vocal mixing creates a forlorn, desperate sort of intelligible singing, and the whole thing puts together noise and electropop in a way that’s new and engaging. If only Time magazine took the initiative to talk about this kind music, then maybe the unwashed masses would realize there’s nothing about Justin Beiber worth talking about.

I love this band, checked out a show of theirs in L.A. You should also take a listen to Nostalghia, they play in the area as well, I think you’d dig them. —>www.facebook.com/nostalghiascorridor is their link. I’m always on the lookout for new bands with a strong sound, thanks for writing these guys up!
Tearist is rad! That first photo by Rachel Carr is amazing, too!
