I hate it when I have a lot of stuff to blog about but my stupid life gets in the way.
● I’m currently listening to Deadstare, and it’s totally wicked awesome.
● I found out yesterday that F.I.D. is playing in Berkeley, CA this Saturday. It’s the first time the band’s played in the US. I’m really hoping I can get a ride to go see them.
● Owen Heart is a rad grind band named after a rassler from the East Bay in California. Even though I like The Smiths, and they have a song called ‘Fuck Morrisey, Fuck The Smiths, Fuck The Cure’ I still really dig them.
● Check out this Detroit, MI band called Death that nobody’s heard of. They’re totally awesome.
● Mind of Asian is definitely one of the most awesome grind bands I’ve ever heard. This album is just incredible.
● The latest album from Atheist is a wicked example of mathy power metal. It’s goofy in the way most power metal is (A good way) but at the same time it’s interesting. I almost want to call it metal for thinking to.
● Lääz Rockit might be the best glam band I’ve ever heard. Seriously. It’s thrash inspired in a way that makes it both inspiring and dirty. I love it.
● A very good friend of mine, and a damn good writer, has started a blog chronicling the shows he goes to. He lives in Oakland, CA, and goes to a show almost every night. He’s also in Botox, which Ve talked about earlier. I haven’t been this excited about a blog in some time. It’s called My Shirt’s All Wet.
● I’m hoping I’ll have time to finish The Maximumrocknroll free box project soon. I’ve been trying to get through all that crap since October, so I really need to bust it out by this point.
