Jim Nollman & The Turkey Choir

Photobucket

San Franciscan Tufts graduate Jim Nollman has done a lot of work making music in unconventional manners. In the picture above he’s trying to record a song with killer whales. He’s also recorded with wolves, but he began his inter-species music sessions after discovering that turkeys will gobble in response to loud noises. He then recorded a version of Frog Went A-Courting with 300 turkeys singing backup. The Smithsonian did an article on him that also had the song available to listen to. Honestly, the gobbling isn’t that impressive and is just sort of annoying. Still, I give Nollman major props for experimentation with music.
