I sorta hate Christmas. I know that’s really weird, but the whole thing just seems so over the top and hokey that I can’t get behind it. Some people I know in Chico, CA started a Christmas themed band called The Yule Logs, and they got extremely popular on the local level. They changed themselves to a ‘holiday band’ after including the Hasidic guitarist Spencer Tielman in the band. Anyway, they just posted a video, and I thought I’d write about it.
You know what? This is the first time I’ve heard The Yule Logs, and I don’t really care for them.
Sorry. Christmas just blows.
Hey this is a Roky Erickson adaptation/cover… the original is “I Walked With a Zombie” and it rules. This… well, not as much but what the hell. Spencer Tielman = “Hasidic” hahahah! Well he does have a lotta hair in that video at least….
