Rundown: Anti-Cop Songs

Some changes need to be made to the whole rundown gig. The Anti-Cop Songs thing has been the weekly rundown theme for three weeks now. Clearly, Ve’s small and casually dedicated staff is unable to keep up with the demands of a weekly collaboration the scale of a rundown. Well have to create a better way.

First off, I want to say that I am of the opinion that not every police officer is a bad person, and it’s probably the case that most of them are really good people. However, the way the system of police force is run often allows bad apples to become cops, and give the whole of police a bad name. To that end, I submit that the method of recruiting, maintaining, and disciplining a police force needs a huge overhaul, both for the sake of citizens and police who don’t deserve to have their reputation tarnished. But my political agenda has no place in this blog, and as such, I am digressing.

Here is a list of songs that carry a message critical of police, weather it be challenging technicalities of police conduct, or simply out-and-out espousing hatred for police in general. I originally wanted to do a time-line approach to these songs, along with pivotal moments in the history of the police’s public reputation, but who has time for such things?
