This is a cool band. I’m tempted to compare them to bands like Pennywise and Propagandhi, because they sound sort of rough-and-tumble, but at the same time a teeny bit poppy. The thing is, Propagandhi and Pennywise have such a bad rap in the punk community, that I’m worried I’d be committing some sort of heresy by doing so. Whatever. I like Pennywise and Propagandhi. They’re not my favorite punk bands ever, but they’re solid and have a few redeeming qualities.
But I digress. The Fucking Cops are cool because they have a solid, driving punk sound that is easy to enjoy. There’s not much to say about it, since it’s just a four song demo, and the band doesn’t do much to break the mold, but I don’t mean to belittle it by saying that. The world always needs more fun, sincere punk acts like this. This is the music that got me through high school. There’s no way I’d ever hate on it.
