Mad Bob Howard is one crucial dude. He’s been in a number of pivotal bands in Chico, CA, all with a sort of wry, disreputable tone. His songs are generally about the shadier side of life, but much of the time have an amusing tongue in cheek sensibility. Most of all, his intelligent, friendly, instantly likable personality shines through in his music. Ask anyone in Chico, he’s an insurmountable asset to the music scene.
His new song, Lost Drunk and Crazy, ditches his typical humorous side, and goes for a straight-to-the-gut exploration into the abject terror of a bitter breakup. It’s an emotionally devastating little tune— the kind of cry in your beer tune that only the very good songwriters can muster. I’m a big fan.
