Some people say that garage rock has a blues-like tone to it. I don’t hear the similarity, but that’s probably just me.
The one thing I’ve heard about the Albuquerque, NM music scene, is that they’re all crazy. The Drags may not be as far out as, say Raven Chacon, but they’re certainly not your average band. They have a howling, raw sound that complements their kooky, often macabre lyrics. I’m down with them for sure.
Love the Drags! CJ (singer/guitarist) lives up here and is in a great band called Cheap Flight with Scott Derr (Monoshock, Lott Lyzzyrd) and Steve Turner of Mudhoney.
