I very seriously wish I understood the social structure that makes some bands stay together for years and others never form. As it stands, I find the whole thing utterly baffling.
Cookie Mongoloid does speed metal covers songs from the children’s television show Sesame Street. I googled them the other night, fully expecting to find little if any information on a long forgotten novelty act. It turns out that not only are they all over the Internet, but they’re still together and playing a show later this month. Somehow they’ve convinced some poor character to don a Cookie Monster mask and leather jacket on a hot stage this whole time. He even does it for the radio interview. Amazing.
