This is the last 530 album I’m posting, for now at least. Ten albums in ten days, and strangely, all I can think about is all the bands I didn’t talk about.
Skeletons were a short lived hardcore band from Redding, CA, that, like many short lived hardcore bands from Redding, CA, rose from the ashes of Set it Straight Set it Straight’s singer, Harry Petty, was the drummer for Skeletons. Skeletons’ singer, Joey Munoz, has been in a number of rockin’ Redding bands over time. End of The Rainbow was a demo the band handed out copies of after their first show. Originally it came in a few different colours, and I happened to get a purple one. The band’s music was wild and explosive and fun, and lyrically, charged with hope for a better future.
End of The Rainbow is a old school hardcore masterpiece. It’s hard hitting, and insightful, and lovable. The first song, End of The Rainbow, includes the line ‘Leave me out of your American dream!’ which, to me strikes me as being just an awesomely hardcore thing to say. One listen from this album, and I wonder why I don’t listen to Black Flag every minute of every day.
