Serendipity Punch was an über-serious Christian pop punk band from Etna, California that broke up in about 2002. In a town like Etna, Serendipity Punch was a fairly big thing with the high school kids, especially the youth group kids. They put out Coconut, an 18 song album recorded by ‘Isbell Productions’ which was the high school project of a kid named Isbell who, to the best of my knowledge, didn’t go on to record anything else. Coconut was not up to the band’s standard of quality, so they put out a demo the following year that was, in my humble opinion, way overproduced and too sappy even for Christian punk. To that end, I’m giving you their album that’s low on quality and high on punk appeal.
Like most high school bands, Serendipity Punch parted ways when members graduated and went off to make their names in the world. A couple of former members stayed in Etna and started crafting guitars. One’s in the forest service. The only one who’s current musical project I’m aware of is frontman Michael Sherry , who’s doing that singer-songwriter stuff that I really can’t stand.
